Product Description
As a Seattle-based company, we're not at home on the trail without a cup of rich aromatic, freshly brewed cup of joe, which is why MSR introduced the MugMate coffee/tea filter. It's low profile enough to be stored in just about any mug or cup, and you won't have to worry about packing out soggy paper filters. The MugMate is capable of making café-quality brew for the outdoor java junky.

It is very durable and light weight and the fine metal mesh easily filters out all of the grounds. I have found the best way to use it is to make cowboy coffee by boiling your grounds and then use the filter when you pour the coffee in your cup. Suggestion: The Finum Teeli Permanent Tea Filter is EXACTLY the same thing for half the price. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By flapjack321 "executive review" (San Diego, CA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: MSR Mugmate Coffee/Tea Reusable Filter (Sports) Light, small, fits in a cup and if you bring fresh ground coffee on your next trip, you will be in heaven. The problem with most loose tea brewers is that the mesh is too coarse, letting through flecks of tea. This brewer has a very fine mesh. I'm not a camper, but I was in REI to buy some shoes and I spotted this and decided to give it a try since I'd never found a really satisfactory tea brewer. I was delighted. I bought my second one from Amazon so I can have one for me and one for a guest. (I don't like to brew tea by using the same tea leaves for two cups -- the second cup is never as good as the first -- each tea drinker deserves a cup of tea made from fresh leaves, not leaves that have been used to brew another cup...
